Custody Modifications FAQs

No. There are many reasons that go into a custody modification request, including a move out of state, a new relationship, an increasingly dangerous situation due to addiction or abuse issues, uncooperative teenagers or a disinterested parent. Drawing upon decades of experience, we will help determine what’s best for your child(ren).

Ultimately, any custody modifications will need to be accepted by you and the other parent, but by putting the matter into our hands, our team will focus on striking a workable solution in a timely way—not fighting old battles.

Generally, we recommend that you leave children out of the process, especially younger ones who may be easily alienated by one side or the other. As they grow older and more independent, however, our team may increasingly encourage considering their wishes as they will play an active role in fulfilling the custody agreement.
